Getaway Liège

Pros: Very nice place located in the city center. Room is really clean and the shower box is amazingly large. My stay has been superb and I will definitely come back!

Warm, spacious, quiet and elegant place to stay in central Liege.

Pros: Huge room with 2 very large doubles and a sofa bed. As it was winter, we hoped for a warm room - the air con was excellent and the room very warm. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of toiletries and towels. The view over the city was spectacular. We faced an inner courtyard and school playground, so it was very quiet at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. All access was digitally controlled and there was an excellent luggage storage facility with individual locking units controlled by personal passwords. The property was very close to the tram stop for connections to the station and also walking distance to the main centre of the old town, where we wanted to be. There were many bars and restaurants around the area. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Liege.

Cons: Lighting is atrocious, as mentioned by other guests. The only bright light is in the bathroom. Each bed has only 1 bedside table and 1 bedside light, which we thought a bit strange. Again, as with other guests, the shower flooded the bathroom with each use. If the leak and the lighting were repaired/upgraded, then it would be 5 stars all round.

Pros: Very good option for an apartment Everything is new, everything is thought out. A great location in this wonderful city.

Cons: There was a slightly strong smell of cleaning products after cleaning. There were also a few charging outlets.

Good value for money, clean, newly refurbished, safe and comfortable.

Pros: The room we had on the 6th floor had a fantastic view of the city. The lovely girl on the desk was so sweet and very helpful when we asked for recommendations for somewhere to eat. The location was pretty good.

Cons: As it has been noted in other reviews, the lighting in the rooms is a bit too subdued. But you can get used to it. There was also a bit of noise from the school next door quite early in the morning - although it didn’t bother us because it was kids playing.

Would recommend

Pros: Highly recommended! The room was huge and felt very cozy. It's located in a prime spot near the center, and the 5-minute walk to the parking garage was super easy.

Pros: Check-in was easy, staff was really kind and helpful. The room itself looked really new and clean and had everything we needed. We could leave our bags after check-out, so we could explore the city without having to carry those around.

Cons: We wanted to leave our bags before checking in, but the property was locked and there was no one to pick up our call. Our window overlooked a playground, so the kids there could be a little noisy. But it was also really cute to see, and with the windows closed it didn't bother us.

Great stay, feels more like home than hotels

Pros: Easy to reach as it's almost next to a tram station and so, easily accessible in public transport. Quite area and yet close to the city center and facilities. The hotel is brand new, and you can expect to have what you see on the picture. We did not face any issue of safety although, as in most places in Liege, you will find homeless people (and beggars) around the city center. There is all the basic things you need to cook if you want to.

Cons: The system had a glitch when we checked out and considered we did not pay the local taxes while we already did. If we did not pay attention, we would have ended up paying this twice. Since there is no staff all day long, we had to call a number (roaming) to highlight the problem and get it resolved. Additionally, we almost got scammed due to a security breach from GETaway. Someone contacted us through WhatsApp for the payment of the room. It looked fairly legit but GETaway reacted in few hours sending a message to everyone although, the damage was probably done for some costumers. Personally, I did not receive an answer to my answer to their message. I felt they could have someone a bit more active in responding to messages as, outside of the reception's hours, nobody seems to answer to messages on booking. There is a number that can be called but it's some sort of call center, not specific to GETaway Liege.

Pros: Friendly staff, well-located, and comfortable place.

Cosy

Pros: Unfortunately upon arriving in Liege I developed a violent cold and didn’t have the strength to explore as much as I had anticipated, however the room made the experience very comfortable. The room was very warm and quiet and the kitchen came stocked fully with utensils for cooking. It was located close to shops and the tram which was really convenient. I really liked the set up of the entire room, it felt really homey and costly. I would definitely recommend friends and family to stay here, especially long term.

Cons: I wish communication was a bit better from admins side. On one of the days one of the cleaners barged in to do a clean, I was startled and didn’t like this and told them they could not come in. It would’ve been better if a day before admin sent a message or email stating what time staff would be coming in to do a service. On a separate day the maintenance man banged on the door and insisted that he had to come into the room to service the air conditioner. Again this could have been something that was communicated in advance that maintenance would be coming in to check on the equipment at a specific time on a specific day. Sometimes guests just want to rest. Especially since I was sick during my stay I absolutely did not like this. Communication could’ve resolved this.

Relaxing stay in a beautifully new Apartment!

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Getaway Apartments in Liège! The apartment was very well equipped, spotless, and had a wonderfully fresh, clean smell the moment we walked in. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the beautiful view made our mornings and evenings extra special. Everything felt thoughtful and welcoming, and it really contributed to us having one of the best trips we’ve ever had. :-) We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Liège!
